Lagos Gov, Sanwo-Olu Ready To Make ITTF Nigeria Open More Bigger – Tandoh

The Chairman, Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC), Dr. Kweku Adedayo Tandoh, has disclosed the plans of Lagos State Government’s plans to make the tournament the best event in the world in terms of organisation, prize monies and participations.   
Dr. Tandoh is also the Tournament Director for the ITTF Challenge Plus Nigeria Open which the 6th edition is ongoing inside Molade Okoya-Thomas Indoor Sports Hall at the Teslim Balogun Stadium., Surulere.
According to Dr. Tandoh, who is the Tournament Director of the Championship for the second year running, the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in Lagos State would continue to provide enabling environment for the competition and other international sporting events being organised in Lagos, one of the emerging mega cities of the world.
“Governor  Sanwo-Olu has assured the representatives of International Table Tennis Federation ( ITTF)  of his support by providing the enabling ambience for this international sporting event to continue to grow.
“There is no doubt that this event has put the name of Lagos State on the world map.

“We’ve seen the dividends of its benefits. We are glad that we have been able to collaborate  with the Ngeria Table Tennis Federation and International Table Tennis Federation to put this yearly event together.
“We are so proud that it has now becomes parts of the calendar of events of ITTF. It has also now become the biggest event in the whole of Africa, and our ultimate goal is to continue to make it bigger and bigger until it becomes the biggest event in the ITTF’s calendar worldwide,” Tandoh said.
This year’s ITTF Challenge Plus Nigeria has been an interesting competition. It ends on Sunday at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.
