SUNDAY AKINTOYE

Friday was a day of decision for some of the players featuring in the second leg of the ongoing Lagos Open Tennis, as the quarter final matches were played to decide  who made it to the semi finals in both the men and women’s singles.

One of such players was Nigeria’s sensational kid, Morocco-based Barakat Oyinlomo Quadre, who broke a record to become the first Nigerian woman player to make it to the quarter final level of the ITF World Tour in Lagos. She was so determined to make it to the semi final stage, but her power could not match her Ukrainian opponent, Valeriya Strakhova, a regular face in Lagos. Gallant Quadre lost her game, so also were some other players.

P.M. EXPRERSS caught the emotional mood of action of Friday’s matches in this photo news.
