Sports Minister Okays Alade Stadium Ahead Sunday Dare National Athletics Tourney In Lagos

Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr Sunday Dare, has expressed satisfaction with the facilities put in place at the Alade Sport Stadium, Ipaja Command, Alimosho, Lagos in preparation for the Under 13 and 15 Sunday Dare Athletics Championship.
The sports minister, who was ably represented by secretary general of Southwest Athletics Association, Dr Issac Friday Ogada during the inspection of the stadium at the weekend, commended Alade Grassroots Sport Academy for the initiative which would help school sports development in the Southwest.
Ogada, while addressing the organisers of the tournament said the facilities and the lurch green grasses of Alade stadium are in good shape and ready to host the tournament of this magnitude in the name of Honourable Sports Minister.
“Based on my fact finding about the venue of Sunday Dare National Athletics, I must confess that the organisers have done well in their preparation. The lurch green grass of the stadium is superb and the other facilities put in place are in good shape for the competition. I congratulate the organisers for their unrelenting efforts and doggedness to ensure that the Sunday Dare Athletics Tourney lives up to standard.
“I want to say that I an here to represent four organs to assess the organisers, venue and facilities for the competition. I am here to represent the Honourable Sports Minister, I also represent the Southwest Athletics Association, Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN), and Oyo State Athletics Association. I will go back to write and submit my reports to these organs for approvals and give all their support to ensure that the tourney is standardised,”he said.
Ogada urged the organisers to continue in their preparation and assured support from both the federal and the southwest region.
In his own remarks, Project Director, Otunba Samuel Adeleye, thanked Ogada for his visit and assured him that the organisers would continue to work hard to make the forthcoming Sunday Dare Athletics Tourney a memorable one, while the president of Alade Grassroots Sports Academy, Prince Tunde Alade expressed delight that Under 13 and 15 Sunday Dare Athletics Tourney has received the attention of the Honourable Sports Minister and promised that the organisers would give their best to host a successful tournament.
The tournament, according to the organisers, would hold tentatively in November.
No fewer than 400 participants will feature in events such as 100m, 200m, 400m and relay race.
