Police operatives from Alakuko Division in Lagos have arrested a 43-year old Jeremiah Agaje, who allegedly inserted his finger into the private part of a 12 months baby in order to satisfy his sexual desire.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 25th June, 2020, at Omorege Street, AIT, Kola, Alagbado area of Lagos, where they reside.

It was gathered that the suspect, Agaje, allegedly lured the victim, removed her pant and inserted his finger into her private part before he was caught and handed over to the Police for molesting the little girl.

There was a twist on the matter after the Police alleged that Agaje defiled the victim by penetrating her with his finger and committed statutory rape which attracts several years of imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty.

Agaje denied that he raped the girl because he only used his finger on her, which he claimed was not rape because he did not penetrate her with his dick.

He has been charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for defilement and was remanded in Correctional centre without an option of bail.
This followed the application by the Prosecutor, Mr. Raji Akeem, to the Court for the matter to be referred to the DPP for advice.
Hence, the Presiding Chief Magistrate, Mrs. A.A. Oshoniyi, granted the request and Agaje was remanded. The prosecutor was directed to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice while the matter was adjourned till a further date for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available in Court.
