Man, 33, Caught Having S*x With Girl, 11, Inside Church

A 33-year old man, Maurice Peter, may have desecrated a place of worship in Lagos by allegedly having sex with an 11-year old girl.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Dominion Church located at Tijani Qudus Street, Ijegun area of Lagos.

The dastardly act was however, exposed after he was caught and handed over to the Police at Ikotun Division. The offence allegedly committed by Maurice attracts several years of imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty before the Court.

The Police alleged that the man, Maurice, took the victim to the Church when nobody was in there, touched her breasts and eventually penetrated her before they were caught.The victim revealed that the man lured her to the place and defiled her before they were caught while the man, Maurice, insisted that he did not force her into the act.
Having been found culpable after interrogation, the Police charged Maurice before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence. He was remanded in the correctional centre without an option of bail following motion by the prosecutor, Supol Ezekiel, who submitted that the matter should be referred to the DPP for advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O.Osunsanmi, granted the request and ordered Maurice to be remanded and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice.

The matter was adjourned till 10th September, 2020, for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available while the man will remain in custody till then. He may be transferred to the High Court if the DPP finds him culpable and recommends his trial for the alleged offence.
