Police Operatives from Ikotun Division led by CSP Adagba Johnson have rescued a 14-year old girl, identified as Janet, who was allegedly raped, impregnated and dumped on the street of Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the Police from the Family Support Unit in Ikotun Division and a nongovernmental organization, known as Youths Friends Services, rescued the girl on the road along Abaranje Road, Ikotun area of Lagos.

She was heavily pregnant, homeless and malnourished before a good Samaritan informed the Police about the condition of the girl. She was then rescued and taken to the Police Station for interrogation.

It was gathered that the girl was brought to Lagos from Akwa Ibom State and introduced into prostitution. She briefly became a sex worker, got impregnated and then was not able to manage it or terminate it as she had no money for abortion.

The sister, who brought her to Lagos, abandoned her and she was helpless, homeless and unable to feed because her customers dumped her including the hotel she was using for prostitution.

When P.M.EXPRESS correspondent visited Ikotun Police Division, the DPO was said to have gone to the State Command for the Commissioner’s briefing.

However, a source at the station said that the DPO had directed that the girl and her sister, who brought her from the village, be taken to the SCIID Panti, Yaba, for further investigation.

It was gathered that the girl was unable to mention those who had slept with her before she became pregnant because they were many and so the Police were yet to get the suspects said to be at large.
