Police Arrest Man With Bundles Of Fake Naira Notes

A man, Endurance Edet has been arrested with bundles of money suspected to be fake naira notes in Lagos.
The suspect was arrested at Ijegun where he used some of the money to buy items at a provision shop.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the suspect had gone to the shop, selected some items and brought out the money and paid.
However, before he could escaped, the sales girl detected and raised alarm which attracted the attention of neighbours who apprehended him and handed him over to the police.
Our correspondent gathered that during the investigation, the police discovered that the money were fake but the suspect refused to disclose where he got the money and where they were printed.

But he only said that it was one Alhaji who gave him the money to be spent while he would only bring back to him (Alhaji) some percentage.
The suspect was however charged before a Lagos court sitting in Ejigbo for unlawful possession of the counterfeited money.
The police also brought the notes as exhibits to be presented during the trial.
The suspect pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Magistrate, Mr J.O.E Adeyemi granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Edet was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect the bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 7 March 2017.
