Daredevil armed robbers invaded Alaba International Market, shot security guard, looted shops and then carted away expensive items worth millions of Naira.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the total value of items lost the looting at the market was not yet ascertained because it was massive as the bandits were said to have invaded the market with vehicles, which they used to escape with the loots.

According to Police sources, the men of the underworld stormed the market, shot sporadically and shot the market security man, Victor Anigbogu, before invading the market.

After the looting, they escaped before information got to the Police, who moved into action and arrested one of the suspects, Egbo Chinagorom, while others were still at large with the loots.

It was gathered that the suspect, Chinagorom, refused to disclose any information to the Police, which would lead to the arrest of other suspects.

He was subsequently charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for conspiracy and armed robbery which attracts several years of imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty.

However, his plea was not taken before Court after the Prosecutor, Mr. Cyril Eyem, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.

Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.O. Ajibade, ordered his remand in correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice.

The outcome of the DPP’s report will determine if Chinagorom will be transferred to the High Court for trial over jurisdiction.

The matter was adjourned till 17th December, 2020, for the report of the DPP’s advice to be ready.
