Ahead Of New Season: Buruj Shortlists Seven Players For Contract

Over the decades, Buruj has been known to develop, nurture and expose talents through international tournaments and trials with an open mindset and a philanthropic heart of giving back to the society coupled with genuine love for the game. 

Before now, most of the players had misused this opportunity and absconded on getting abroad after conniving with their parents before leaving the shores of the country.

Dr. Salaudeen Waheed Buruj, who is termed as a man with a big heart and a socialite, acquired his wealth from being a herbal practitioner, a member of the British Herbal Medicine Association (BHMA) and Lagos State Board of Traditional Medicine. He has provided health remedy to a lot of people home and abroad via his herbal products fully registered under the National Agency for Food & Drugs Agency Commission (NAFDAC).

For 2021, Buruj has drafted a new policy during the Board resolution; this encompasses successful players, who graduated from the academy to get signed into the Football Club.

In the quest to register and play the Nationwide League, FA Cup and also provide outstanding players for its yearly pre-season international tourneys and trials, Seven (7) players from the academy in persons of Edet Inyang, 16yrs – Goal Keeper, Noah Salaudeen, 19yrs – Striker and Attacking Midfielder, Solomon Aitimon,  17yrs – Defensive / Attacking Midfielder, Aliu Fatai, 19yrs – Defender, Ridwan Yusuf, 15yrs : Right Back/Right winger, Emmanuel Joseph, 17yrs – Attacking Midfielder and Bassey Samuel, 17yrs – Goal Keeper have all been given an edge after successfully threading through the strenuous learning process at Buruj Sports Academy. This enabled them make the list of the “Outstanding Seven” shortlisted for possibility of making up the first team / signing a contract with the club.

These players have been selected from the academy due to their track record of performances, discipline, attitude to training, commitment, relentless effort to deliver their best on the pitch.  
The selection process is still on for both new and returning players of the academy.
It is a mandate that distinguishes Buruj Sports Academy from others, with a pathway for players who enrol into the academy and run a minimum of a year programme to evolve in the game of football after getting the nod of the technical crew.
