The police on Tuesday paraded 25 suspects allegedly involved in several serious criminal activities in Lagos.

The suspects were paraded by the Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Owoseni at the State Command, Ikeja, Lagos.

Those arrested include suspected kidnappers, armed robbers, human traffickers, car snatchers, forgers of National Identity and voters cards among others.

Some of the suspects are Gbenga Odugbolu, Abimbola Onalaga, Lasis Toheeb and a female, Mrs Favour Nwannekezi who were arrested around Shagamu road in Ikorodu for their alleged involvement in the printing National identity and voters cards.

Three women were also paraded for engaging in child trafficking. They were involved in stealing and selling of three-year old girl.

While parading them, CP Owoseni said the police’s efforts to get rid of criminal elements in the state yielded fruits through prompt action.

He said it was the result of the action that led to the arrest of the suspects within and outside the state.

Owoseni decried the alarming rate of crime being committed by teenagers and advised parents to watch the activities of their children.

He raised the alarm over the arrest of 10 junior students of Randle Junior Secondary School in Surulere in Lagos. They are between the ages of 12 and 16. They  were arrested with arms such as cutlasses and axes.

He said the students are being investigated and their parents have been brought in by the Lagos State government through its ministry.

He also cited  the recent rape case by a 9-year- old boy who in his view might have been committed due to lack of control by the boy’s parents.

He said those suspects are going through various level of investigations, while those culpable will be charged to court.
