The caption above is the correct quote from Prof. Chukwuma Soludo while addressing members of the APGA State Executive Committee at a resent consultative meeting. The haste to churn out sensational headlines for traffic and trends is one of the downsides of the new Media that is rapidly taking roots in the  mainstream or traditional media. 

They cause the harm, earn the traffic and turn around to issue apologies. This must be discouraged. More disappointing is the fact that a hitherto reputable News medium like Punch Newspapers could be caught in this same vicious web of junk journalism. 

An Economist of Soludo’s cast cannot be careless with important Statistics, neither will he employ same for political grandstanding. “A million Jobs for the youths every year” in a State like Anambra sounds, and in the actual sense is, bogus. 

Much as we pride in the fact that Soludo is known for his “big ideas”, we cannot concede to one that is intended to make him appear shallow. This is just to put the records straight for our sincere supporters and the reading public.
