Nigeria Shooting Appoints New Chairman, Kunle Akintimehin For Judges’ Committee

Kunle Akintimehin, new Shooting Federation Judges’ Committee chairman

As part of its moves towards arresting the dwindling fortunes of Shooting Sports in the country, the leadership of the Nigeria Shooting Sports Federation has appointed the pioneer secretary/coach of the Lagos State Shooting Sports Association, Mr. Kunle Akintimehin as the Chairman of the Judges Committee of the Federation.


This came on heels of the successful conclusion of the 1st African Shooting Sports Federation Judges course in Pistol and Riffle held in Lagos in which Mr. Akintimehin participated and excelled.


The letter of appointment which was signed by the executive President of the Nigeria Shooting Sports Federation, Brig. Gen. Lansdale Adeoye (RTD), read, ‘’The entire executives’’ board of the Nigeria Shooting Sports Federation convey its compliments to your honorable self and we are very appreciative of your immense contribution to the Development of Sports in Nigeria.

“Having gone through your sporting archieves, coupled with your participation at the just concluded 1st African Shooting Sports Federation Judges course in Pistol and Riffle, organized in collaboration with the Nigeria Shooting Sports Federation in Lagos, we’re delighted to inform you of your nomination as the Chairman of the Judges’ Committee with effect from 16th of April 2021.

“We look forward to receive your wealth of experience on the Federation programme as you are saddled with the responsibilities of repositioning the judges activities of the Federation to the greater height with members of the committee..”

Mr. Akintimehin whose tall credentials speaks volume of his experience in shooting sports, represented Lagos State at the National Shooting Championship in 1991, he attended basic Sport Shooting Techniques and Talent test in 1994 before attending officiating and coaching Clinic in 1996.

As the Pioneer Secretary/Coach of Lagos State Shooting Association from 1996-2009, Mr Akintimehin also attended advanced coaching and officiating clinic in 2001 and crowned it all by obtaining a diploma in the 1st Africa Shooting Sports Federation judges course in Riffle and Pistol in the year 2020.


Other members of the committee include, Cdre. Rtd. Micheals (Navy), Ojurayo Sheriff (NSCDC) Onikeku Samuel (Customs), Maj. S. Jonah (Army), Sgn. Ldr. A. Mohammed of (Airforce), and Ogboi Theresa (Police).
While the Ex-Officials include Brig. Gen, Lansdale Adeoye Rtd (President NSSF), GRP. CPT. Rahinatu Garba (Airforce), Acp. Patrick Ejedawe (Police), Awo Abolarin Sesan (LSSC), Olatunji Boluji (Ogun State) and Adeoye Bidemi (LSSC)
