The Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Idris Salako, midweek visited the site for the proposed ultramodern ICT Park in Katngowa in Agbado-Okeodo LCDA to assess the level of work.

Salako expressed reservations about the slow pace of work and urged the Developer, Messrs Bridgeway Limited, to brace up and deliver the project on schedule, adding that the company should not leave room for doubts in its capability to deliver the project.

The Commissioner expressed concern that the developer should keep to the terms of the Public Private Partnership(PPP) agreement to develop the facilities with all ancillary services.

He observed that the idea of key-clamps was conceived by the Government as a temporary abode for the displaced traders in the erstwhile Katangowa market and  urged the Developer to respect the welfarist intention in implementing the resettlement of the traders.

He enjoined the Developer to cultivate harmonious relationship among all groups and interests in Katangowa.

Salako emphasised that the Lagos State Government was hopeful that the project would birth on time for the people to start reaping it many benefits including employment opportunities, economy of scale and decongestion of the Computer Village, Ikeja, among others.

Recall that an ICT hub in Katangowa was embarked upon by the Lagos State Government to decongest the Computer Village, Ikeja, in order to address challenges of growth.
