Igbo Rally Support For Chief Echekwu For Ajeromi LG Vice Chairman
CHUKA UBAH

The Igbo in Lagos State have given full support for the Vice Chairmanship position on their illustrious son, Chief Anselm Udoka Echekwu, popularly known as Orobo, for Ajeromi Local Government area of Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the support came from the Council of Traditional Rulers in Lagos State led by their Chairman, Ezendigbo in Ibeju Lekki, Eze Chris Offia, who described Orobo as a great leader in APC, who has been working hard to protect the interests of the Igbo in Lagos State.
This view was supported by other Igbo leaders including Ezendigbo, Lagos State, Eze Christian Uchechukwu Nwachukwu, President of Igbo Speaking Community, Chief Sunday Eze and others during the inspection of APC Secretariat known as Igbo House located at Oshodi/Mile 2 Expressway by NEPA Bus Stop.
Meanwhile, Igbo residents of Ajeromi Local Government have already protested the purported plan to substitute Orobo’s name as candidate of APC for Vice Chairmanship position in the Local Government.
They alleged that some leaders in the Local Government area were secretly going behind to demand for the substitution of Chief Anselm Udoka Echekwu, popularly known as Orobo, on the ground that he is too influential and they will not be able to control him to do their biddings.
But Chief Echekwu cannot be blamed for knowing influential party leaders because he has demonstrated high sense of loyalty to the Party for him to be recognized by top party leaders which ordinarily will be a plus to Ajeromi Local Government because he will use the influence to attract development to the area.
Chief Anselm Udoka Echekwu has been a loyal APC member in Lagos State and had been a known Progressive since the return of Democracy in Nigeria in 1999 till date.

Speaking on his passion for APC, Chief Echekwu said he started Party politics in Lagos State right from AD, AC, ACN to APC and he has been loyal to the leaders of the Party and coordinating the Igbo in the whole Local Governments of the State for the party.
On the rumour going round that his name will be substituted, he declined comments but insisted he is a loyal APC party member in Ajeromi Local Government and have contributed immensely to support and build the Party for years and he will continue to do so.
