How Robbers Burnt Daleko Police Station, Carted Away N350m Exhibits

Police operatives from the Commissioner of Police Special Squad, Lagos State Command, have arrested seven suspected robbers behind the burning down of Daleko Police Station after carting away properties worth about N350m including exhibits and escaped during the EndSARS protest.


P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspects were Yusuf Saliu, 41, Adekoya Adewale, 21, Salami Sikiru, 20, Solomon Isaac, 23,Abdulkarem Mewaiki, 24, Addulahi Mohammed, 31 and Abiodun Kolawole, 26.

The Police alleged, they committed the alleged offence and escaped unknown they were being trailed since the incident happened on 21st October, 2020.

They were said to have pretended to be protesters and went to the Station and looted the place then set the Station on fire to cover up.

They were later arrested and charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for burglary, arson, carting away properties including exhibits worth N350m.
The Court did not take their plea after the Prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice  in order to determine the jurisdiction.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.I. Adelaja, ordered their remand in Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice.

The defendants may spend several years in prison custody if the DPP’s report finds them culpable and they are tried and found guilty for the alleged offence before the Court.
