Friends Arrested Over Gang-R*pe Of Girl, 15, In A Hotel

Police operatives from Gender Section of the Lagos State Command have arrested two friends, Tunmise Oladoyin, 24 and Peter Awe, for allegedly gang-raping a 15-year old girl in a hotel.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspects took the girl to the popular Toazan Hotel, located at Tinubu Street, Alapere area of Lagos and engaged her in sex one after the other.

Having satisfied themselves in the act, they allowed the girl to go. But the girl went home and informed her parents about what happened and the matter was reported to the Police in the area.

The Police trailed and later arrested them. They were then transferred to the Gender Section of the Command for interrogation over the dastardly act.

They reportedly admitted that they took the girl to the hotel and slept with her with her consent before they allowed her to go.
The Police found them culpable because of the age of the girl and subsequently charged them before the Ogba Magistrates Court for conspiracy and defilement.

The alleged offence attracts several years of imprisonment if they are tried and found guilty before the Court.
However, the Court did not take their plea after the prosecutor, Supol Kehinde Ajayi, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.

Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. A. Ajibade, ordered their remand in correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice.

The matter may be transferred to the High Court if the DPP’s report finds them culpable over jurisdiction because of the nature of the matter.
