The landlady, Mrs. Ibe, has been arrested over her conduct while her husband, Christopher, was said to be at large.

The Police did not state if the tenant, Sunday, was owing arrears of rent, which may have prompted the landlady to have decided to illegally eject him.

However, her action has led to her arrest and arraignment before Ogba Magistrates Court for deliberately using an object to break the key to the tenant’s flat and parking his property out.

She pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Supol Benson Emerhi, asked the Court to give a date for her trial for the Police to prove she actually committed the alleged offence since she pleaded not guilty.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. J.A. Adegun, granted her bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum while ordering her remand in correctional centre at Kirikiri town pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
