Madestone Sports, Lead British Int’l School Partner To Develop Football In Ibadan

History was made on Tuesday, August, 24, 2021 when the management of Madestone Sports entered partnership with Lead British International School located in Ibadan, Oyo State, southwest Nigeria to develop and promote football among the students between ages of 5 to 17 years old.
Both parties were in collaboration to encourage the students to see football as a professional career not as hobby and prepare them for a brighter future.
The signing of the deal, which took place at the school’s premises at Plot 5, 7, & 8 Akinola Maja Street, Jericho, Ibadan, Oyo Sate, would help the students to understand the rudiments and laws of the game at the tender age.
Madestone Football Academy, a subsidiary of Madestone Sports has agreed with the Lead British International School to raise a football academy known as LEADBRITISH-MADESTONE FOOTBALL ACADEMY.
Head Coach of Madestone Football Academy, Oluwatobilola Olubiyi said the partnership with Lead British International Schools is engineered towards encouraging football in the minds of the kids at a younger age and preparing them for a career in the round leather game or sports at large.
“We are happy to partner with one of the foremost schools in Ibadan, Lead British International Schools on football development. This is historic event because it has never happened in Ibadan for a sports company to partner with a school on football development.
“I hope that the partnership deal would bring the school to the limelight as many students from various schools would be looking forward to coming to register with the academy in few days to come,” he said.
Olubiyi, a UEFA licensed coach from the English Football Association and former coach of the Charlton Athletic Junior Reds FC, Bexleyheath, UK, also disclosed that arrangement is in top gear to train and retrain coaches to ensure the rapid development of the talented kids in the academy.
Olubiyi further said they have outlined how football activities would not affect class work, saying that both activities would help the young kids to grow mentally, physically and academically throughout their stay in school.
The Head of Secondary School of the Lead British International School, Mr. Olusola Babayeju, also noted that the school is happy to be a part of this development in Ibadan and urged the parents and guardians to encourage their wards to show interest in the round leather game.
According to him, this partnership is notably the first of its kind in the whole of Oyo State, and the school’s sports facilities will serve as the host ground for the academy. He also welcomed various kids from every part of the prestigious city of Ibadan and beyond who are planning to register with the club.
He believes the school’s sports infrastructure is adequate enough to achieve the objectives of the academy and consequently encouraged the parents to enroll their interested wards/children into the football academy.
In her own comment Head of Primary School of the Lead British International School, Mrs. Adesuyi said the partnership between the school and Madestone Sports would produce world-renowned talents who will represent the country and ultimately become super stars in the nearest future.
Among the important personalities that witnessed the signing –off the partnership deal are the school’s Bursar, Mrs. Folorunsho, Madestone Sports’ Financial Manager, Mr. Akanji Akinyemi, the school’s HR Manager, Mrs. Oreniwa.
With experienced and well-trained coaches on ground, Madestone Sports Academy is set to begin operation by October 2021.
Olubiyi noted that registration to join the LEADBRITISH-MADESTONE FOOTBALL ACADEMY is now open, eligible for school students, both boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 17.
