Applause For Sanwo-Olu For Hosting Aisha Buhari Cup In Lagos

Some Football Fans in Lagos on Tuesday commended the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the hosting of the Aisha Buhari Invitational Women’s Football Tournament.
Speaking during the closing ceremony of the tournament at the remodelled Mobolaji Johnson Sports Arena on Lagos Island, some of the spectators interviewed said that the hosting of the tournament in Lagos is a welcome development and should be a sustainable one.
According to Semiu Yaya-Balogun, a resident of Lagos Island, “the turf of the stadium is very okay, kudos to Lagos State Government for the delivering of standard sports arena and for the hosting of this international football tournament in Lagos Center of Excellence.
“If Lagos State Government can continue to host Super Eagles and Super Falcons in Lagos, it is going to help the two national teams to be more strong,” he said.
Adewale Busari, a football enthusiast hailed the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for organizing the tournament and Lagos State Government for hosting the six African nations tournament in Lagos.
” I would like to give a tump up to both the Nigeria Football Federation and the Lagos State Government under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the hosting of this very entertaining female Football Tournament here in Lagos”.
“By hosting this tournament in Lagos, it gives me the opportunity to watch Super Falcons played in Lagos and I so much enjoyed good display by all the countries that participated in this tournament.
“I want more of this to happen in Lagos because Lagos is a sports hub in Nigeria,” Busari said.
To Mariam Abisogun, hosting of Aisha Buhari Invitational Women’s Football Tournament by the Lagos State Government gave her the opportunity to watch Super Falcons live and direct for the first time.
“This is the first time in my life that I am watching Super Falcons of Nigeria playing live and I am so happy for that experience.
“I want to thank Lagos State and the organisers for giving me this opportunity to watch female football right here in Lagos”.
Also Busayo Olaitan, sports journalist from Abuja said that hosting of the tournament in Lagos is a welcome development.
“A big shout out to the Governor of Lagos State for the hosting and the NFF for making it happen.
“This tournament is good for Super Falcons and if many like this is staged, it will go a long way to help the Nigerian female football team and Super Falcons to improve physically and mentally.”
The Supper Falcons of Nigeria lost 4-2 to the South African Female Football Team during the final game watched by many football enthusiasts that included Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, NFF President Amaju Pinnick and many other dignitaries.
