Police Officer Loses 2 Teeth After Mob Attack While Performing Duty

A Police Sergeant, Bada Adebayo, attached to Ayobo Division, escaped death but lost his two teeth after he was brutally attacked while performing his lawful duty in Lagos State.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at 8 & 9 Bus Stop, Ayobo area of Lagos State, where the officer was assigned to perform his duty. 

Apart from losing his teeth, he was also attacked with dangerous weapons and sustained injuries on his eye, leg and head in the process. 

The cause of the fight was not disclosed by the Police, who later mobilized to the scene and rescued the victim before he was rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.

Later four of the suspects, who were said to be behind the serious assault on the victim were arrested which included James Dayo, 38, Musa Rasheed, 27, Ganiyu Aliu, 25 and Samuel Udoh, 27.

They were charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for serious assault and injury by forcefully knocking off the victim’s teeth. 
They pleaded not guilty. 

The prosecutor, Mr. Clifford Ogu, asked the Court to give a short adjournment to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs, S.K.Matepo, granted them bail in the sum of N400,000 with two sureties in like sum while the matter was adjourned till 5th November, 2021, for mention.
The defendants were remanded in Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
