A Road To Progress, A Call For Safety

Posted on February 5, 2025

Development thrives on good road infrastructure, and Ifite Awkuzu has witnessed remarkable progress under the leadership of Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo. The construction of the roads linking Awkuzu Civic Center to Umunya and Awkuzu Water Works Road to the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway has greatly improved accessibility, and we, the people of Ifite Awkuzu, deeply appreciate this transformative initiative.

However, with progress comes new challenges. The absence of speed bumps on these roads poses a serious safety risk. Overspeeding has become a growing concern, endangering both motorists and pedestrians. Since there are no designated walkways, residents walking along the roadside remain vulnerable to accidents.

To prevent a looming disaster, we earnestly appeal to the state government to install speed bumps along these roads. Proactive safety measures will ensure that this development benefits everyone without compromising lives. Let’s make our roads not just better but safer for all.
