Addbrand Cup: Ebuka Praises Participating Teams For Good Display

Chief Executive Officer of Msport Link Africa, Matins Ebuka has commended the effort of the participating teams at the just concluded Addbrand Cup which held on Friday at the Eagles Club football pitch, Surulere, Lagos.

The one day event was being sponsored by Addbrand Company based in Sweden in partnership with Msport Link Africa.

The seven aside tournament witnessed both U-11 boys category and girls category.

Ebuka who was among the guests who witnessed the occasion told our correspondent that he was satisfied and impressed with the fast development of young footballers both boys and girls in Lagos saying that he had discovered abundant talents that can be nurtured to stardom.

“Honestly what i saw today surprised me.I could see future players among these teams that can represent the country in both categories.To say the fact, all the participating teams were prepared and did well in their respective matches.

“I must commend the title sponsor and congratulate two teams that won the tournament.This is to tell you that grassroots football is fast developing in the state,”he said.

In his own comment, a Spanish football agent, Marti Torres who accompanied Ebuka to Nigeria said he was quite impressed with the performance of young players in Nigeria.

He said Nigeria is football playing nation noting that the country has enormous talents that can mentor and nurture for proper utilisation in the future.

While tournament cordinator, Chinasa Mandy Ukandu thanked all the participating teams for honouring the invitation and congratulated the winners for the job well done.

Meanwhile in the final, Phoenix Queens defeated Future Stars Queens 2-1 on penalties after barren draw at the regulation time, while in boys category,CATS also beat Diamond Sports 1-0 to claim the winners.

Eight female teams were selected for the competition while nine teams took part in the boys category.
