Africa Magic Unveils Four Captivating Drama Series Premiering From March

Posted on March 25, 2025

While Africa Magic continues to expand its lineup of original series, March and April will introduce four brand-new drama series —The Good Shepherd, Our Husband, The Yard, and Wings— each offering compelling narratives that explore love, betrayal, faith, power, and ambition.

The Good Shepherd follows the journey of Ava, an ambitious pastor determined to grow his church while struggling to save his dying wife.

His path collides with Chief Ogundowo, a powerful man willing to go to any lengths to protect his son’s dark secrets. As Ava is drawn into the dangerous world of human trafficking, he faces a moral dilemma in a gripping story of faith, corruption, and redemption.

Starring Tony Umez, Susan Jimah, Casey Edema, and Rotimi Adelegan, the three-part series premieres from March 21 to March 23 at 9:00 PM on Africa Magic Showcase.

Adding to the lineup, Our Husband tells the story of Zara Nnamani, a woman whose seemingly perfect life unravels when she discovers her husband’s infidelity in the most shocking way. But when his sudden fatal heart attack leaves her with a devastating secret, she is forced into an unlikely alliance with his mistress, Ololade. Now bound together by a truth that could destroy them both, they must navigate a web of deception, power struggles, and unexpected consequences.

Featuring Munachi Abii, Scarlet Gomez, Gloria Anozie Young, and Okey Uzoeshi, produced by Uche Ikejimba, the series premieres on March 31 at 8:30 PM on Africa Magic Showcase.

The Yard delves into the brutal world of the Ajako bus park, ruled by the ruthless Chief Odafe.

It follows Tega, a struggling bus driver, and Odafe Junior, the chairman’s privileged son, who form an unlikely alliance to challenge the system. As they push for justice, they soon realize that power comes at a dangerous cost.

Produced by James Omokwe and starring Frank Konwea, Korede Ajayi and Toyin Oshinaike, the 30-minute drama premieres at 8 PM on March 31 on Africa Magic Showcase.

Meanwhile, Wings explores the world of aviation and investigative journalism, following fearless journalist Pwadeino “Deino” Akume as she crosses paths with Bayani “Yani” Goma, the charismatic COO of Sun’Su Airlines.

What starts as an unexpected romance takes a dark turn when Deino begins investigating allegations of illegal activity tied to the airline, uncovering disturbing secrets—including connections to her late boyfriend’s mysterious death.

As the airline fights for a national carrier license, Deino must navigate a treacherous web of lies, power, and betrayal. Produced by Dimbo Atiya, Wings premieres from April 3rd at 8:30PM on Africa Magic Showcase.

Speaking on the new slate of content, Dr. Busola Tejumola, Executive Head of Content and Channels at MultiChoice, West Africa emphasized Africa Magic’s dedication to compelling storytelling: “This new slate features bold and emotionally charged stories that explore love, loyalty, and the unexpected consequences of hidden truths. With rich storytelling and stellar performances, the shows reaffirm our dedication to delivering authentic African narratives that deeply resonate with viewers.”

The new series will air exclusively on Africa Magic Showcase (DStv ch. 151, GOtv ch. 8).

Viewers can also stream episodes on the DStv Stream App at no additional cost.
