Agunechemba And SASA (Ndi Aka Odo): Let’s See The Brighter Side Of Our Collective Decision!

The painful reality with law enforcement in a society like ours, is that it is often not seen as a job for the “clear-eyed”. The rot in some parts of our society is so bad that their daily occurrence has made them a normal part of our existence.

The gory stories at upper Iweka, the horrible shopping experiences of traders and customers in our major markets especially at Onitsha are not deserving of reminiscence. This is why the greater wins of SASA (Ndi aka Odo) cannot be subjugated by rare incidents of abuse. For the people of Nnewi South, Orumba North and South, Aguata, Nnewi North, Ekwusigo, Ihiala and Ogbaru, then Awka North, the introduction of Agunaechemba remains a huge reason to thank God.

These guys may not be very conventional, but they are strategic and relevant in the face of the bigger evil we would face if they were not in place. Government will continue to reform them, and with the collective support of the people they will grow into a certain level of maturity where the 5% infractions by a few elements amongst them would no longer exist.

Let me emphasize before I conclude that the creation of Agunechemba and SASA (Ndi aka Odo) remain the collective decision of the majority of Ndi Anambra. They are the strategic response of Ndi Anambra to criminals who, without provocation, threatened their peace and security.

Consequences are the realities we MUST live with as a result of our action or inaction. There is no doubt that in harvesting wheats chaffs often find their way into the Farmer’s basket. However, the presence of chaffs cannot be enough justification for trashing the wheats or condemning the entire harvest
