Alaba Trader Docked For Stealing N10.5m Phone Accessories Inside Market

A 53-year old Alaba market International market, Omosehin Ayomike, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly stealing over N10.5m worth of phone accessories belonging to one Charles Okoh.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 8th day of July, 2025, at about 1230hrs at Alaba International Market, Ojo area of the State.
According to the Police, the suspect went to the place where the complainant packed the items, stole them and while he tried to escape with the items, he was caught by the security guards and handed over to the Police at Ojo Division for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ojo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charge read:
“That you, OMOSEHIN AYOMIKE ‘M’ on the 8th day of July, 2025, at about 1230hrs at Alaba International Market, Ojo, in the Ojo Magisterial District, did steal phone accessories and screens valued at N10,500,000.00 (Ten Million, Five Hundred Thousand Naira), pгорerty of one Charles Okoh ‘M’ represented by Ikukuoha Kingsley ‘M’ and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
However, he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Esther Adesulu, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.M. Ogun, granted him bail in the sum of N1m with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in correctional center pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
