Posted on October 31, 2025

Justice Ambrose Lewis-Allagoa of a Federal High Court, Lagos, has fixed November 7, 2025 for the arraignment of three former staff of the Brila Broadcasting services Limited.

The judge fixed the date recently following failure of the defendants: Akakan Victor Mkpong Sam, Blessing Sunday Ekerete and Anthony Babafemi Raji, to appear before the court for their arraignment.

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun had filed a five-count charge against the defendants and their arraignment were slated for today, but the trio did not appear before the court.

When the case was called last week, Barrister Samuel A. Ogala appeared for the prosecution while, neither the defendants nor their counsel was present in court.

The prosecutor, Ogala informed the court that the defendants have been duly served but the affidavit of service was not in court file.

Ogala promised to do the needful before the next adjourn date, regarding the filing of affidavit of service, to prove that the defendants have been served.

IGP in the charge marked FHC/L/530/2025, filed against the defendants, count one to four of the five-count charge had names of the three defendants and it bordered on fraud, conspiracy and money laundering.

While the count five, only has the name of the third defendant, Anthony Babafemi Raji and it alleged that the defendant bully, threaten or harass Dr. Larry Izamoje.

The charge read: “That you Babafemi Raji ‘M’ sometimes in 2024 in Nigeria within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court did knowingly or intentionally transmit or cause the transmission of messages via internet such as facebook, Whatsapp, Youtube, X’ (formerly Twitter) etc., the medium with which you bully, threaten or harass Dr. Larry Izamoje ‘M’ that which put him in fear of death, violence or bodily harm and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 24(2)(3)(a & b) of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2015 (as amended) 2024. Dated this and day of July, 2025”.

Due to the absence of the defendants in court, the prosecutor, Ogala prayed the court for short adjournment and the court granted it.

Justice Lewis-Allagoa therefore, adjourned the case to November 7, 2025.
