Amah: When Truth Breaks Through Politics

Dr. John Amah, elder brother to Abraham Amah, the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State, has done what many within the opposition ranks often avoid—he spoke the truth. And in doing so, he has echoed the sentiments of countless Abians who daily witness and appreciate the quiet but profound transformation Governor Alex Otti is driving across the state.

At a time when the political landscape is clouded by cynicism, partisan propaganda, and deliberate opposition, Dr. Amah’s voice rises above the noise—honest, unfiltered, and deeply refreshing. His testimony is not only a bold validation of Governor Otti’s people-focused leadership, but also a moral challenge to others, both within and outside the opposition, to recognize and speak the truth when they see it.

Below is the full text of Dr. Amah’s letter to His Excellency, Governor Alex Chioma Otti, OFR. 👇👇👇

*THANK YOU HIS EXCELLENCY, DR ALEX OTTI, THE LISTENING GOVERNOR*

Your Excellency,
Dr Alex Chioma Otti, OFR,
Executive Governor of Abia State.

I write with a heart full of gratitude and admiration to express my deepest appreciation to you, Sir, for your outstanding leadership and uncommon humility as a listening Governor.

During the funeral service of the late Engr. Israel Nweke, the former Mayor of Osisioma Local Government Area, where I was privileged to preach the Word of Life, I had the honour of addressing a congregation that included the key stakeholders and political stalwarts of Abia State. Your Excellency was ably represented by your respected Deputy, and I did not hesitate to publicly commend your tireless efforts in transforming Abia State.

I particularly acknowledged your bold and visionary decision to flag off the construction of the Ohafia–Arochukwu Road, a major road that had remained in deplorable condition for decades. Although this road falls under the jurisdiction of the Federal Government, you choose not to hide behind bureaucracy but instead took responsibility for the well-being of your people. That singular act demonstrated your uncommon sense of duty, responsibility, and leadership.

Before delivering the message that day, I humbly informed your representative that I had been told the contractors had left the construction site. I pleaded, with the little influence I have as a preacher in Assemblies of God, that they should be asked to return to site.

To my utmost joy and amazement, Your Excellency responded with swift and decisive action. Today, the contractors are back on the site, and the work has resumed. That, Sir, is what we call responsive leadership.

Your gesture reassures the common man in Abia that there is still hope, hope in governance, hope in leadership, and hope in the future of our dear state.

Despite my insignificance in the political terrain, just a humble preacher of the gospel, you honoured my plea and acted upon it. That is not just leadership; that is statesmanship. I am deeply touched and sincerely grateful.

Your Excellency, I lift my voice to the heavens, and by the authority of the Name that is above every other name, JESUS CHRIST, I make the following declarations upon you, your family, and your government:
* May the Lord who enthroned you preserve your throne. You shall not fall, and your light shall not go dim. You will finish well and finish strong.
* Wisdom beyond your peers is your portion. You shall continue to operate with clarity of vision, sound judgment, and divine strategy.
* Every hand lifted against your leadership shall be confounded. Those who plot your downfall shall stumble and fall before your rising.
* May your government experience supernatural acceleration. What takes others years, may it take you months. What seems impossible, may it become your everyday testimony.
* The peace of God shall rest upon Abia State under your leadership. Violence shall be far from your gates; prosperity shall overflow in the land.
* Your legacy shall be generational. Long after you’ve left office, the works of your hands will still speak in Abia State and beyond.
* Your family is shielded from every form of attack, scandal, or shame. Your wife shall be a crown upon your head, and your children shall be mighty in the land.
* May heaven continually back you up. As you listen to the cry of the common man, so shall heaven listen to your own prayers.
* You shall never lack the right men and women, helpers of destiny, counsellors, advisors, and implementers who will help you carry out your divine assignment.
* Your second term shall not be a struggle. If the Lord tarries, and it is His will, He will grant you the favour of continuity and legacy completion.

THANK YOU SIR, HIS EXCELLENCY.
Thank you for being a true servant-leader.
Thank you for making us proud as sons and daughters of Abia.
Thank you for listening to the voice of the people, even from the lips of a preacher like me.

May the Almighty God, who placed the scepter of governance in your hands, continue to uphold you, guide you, and establish you.

Yours sincerely,
Dr John Amah
Assemblies of God, Nigeria.
