As the countdown begins for the 11th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), Amstel Malta, Nigeria’s leading premium malt drink, has been unveiled as the official headline sponsor for this year’s highly anticipated celebration of African film, entertainment and television.

This milestone highlights Amstel Malta’s long-standing support for the entertainment industry and its dedication to promoting African storytelling to a global audience.

The official announcement was made at a press conference held on Thursday, March 13, at MultiChoice Studios, Ilupeju, Lagos, where stakeholders from MultiChoice Nigeria, the AMVCA judging team, tactical sponsors and members of the press gathered to unveil exciting plans for this year’s awards.

The AMVCA, more than just a glamorous night of accolades, has evolved into a powerful platform that recognises, nurtures, and amplifies African talent, with Amstel Malta playing a central role in driving this impact and celebrating excellence.

Speaking on the significance of this partnership, Francis Obiajulu, Senior Brand Manager, Amstel Malta and Hi-Malt, Nigerian Breweries Plc., emphasised the brand’s long-standing commitment to the creative industry.

“Our relationship with MultiChoice goes beyond sponsorship; it is a deliberate investment in the future of African film and entertainment. As the headline sponsor of the 11th edition of the AMVCA, we are strengthening our commitment to fostering creativity, empowering emerging filmmakers, and ensuring that African storytelling continues to captivate audiences across the globe.”

As part of its commitment, Amstel Malta also announced an expanded partnership with the MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF), reinforcing its role in nurturing young African filmmakers.

This initiative aligns with the brand’s continued evolution, including launching its new stylish sleek can—symbolising innovation, creativity, and a forward-thinking approach to nurturing talent and inspiring excellence.

As the 11th edition of the AMVCA approaches, Amstel Malta remains dedicated to championing African storytelling, celebrating creative brilliance, and supporting the industry’s brightest talents—both on and off the screen.

With this sponsorship, the brand solidifies its position as a key driver in African entertainment, spurring ambition and inspiring excellence amongst the continent’s talented storytellers.
