Anambra Guber 2021: Obiano’s Aide Resigns, Dumps APGA

Posted on October 30, 2021

More trouble for APGA and Soludo as some aides of Governor Willie Obiano resign ahead of the November 6 gubernatorial election in Anambra State.

Weeks after the shocking defection of Anambra Deputy Governor, Dr. Nkem Okeke, to the All Progressives Congress (APC), more defections hit the party as another trusted aide of the Governor has dumped him and the Soludo project days to the election proper.

Uloka Chukwubuikem, popularly known as Nwanne Nwunye Governor, who hails from Ogbunike same community as the Anambra First Lady and Willie Obiano’s SSA on Media, yesterday informed that he has duly resigned his appointment and membership of APGA and have defected to the APC to support Senator Andy Uba’s aspiration to govern Anambra State.

According to the statement by Uloka after his defection, he blamed his decision on the highhandedness and insincerity of the APGA leadership and the total collapse of Governor Willie Obiano’s administration, who he said failed the people of Anambra State and would finish as the worst Governor of the State due to his inability to take charge of his Government after a performance laden six (6) years, instead he allowed miscreants and unfortunate individuals parade themselves as cabal to ruin and defame his name and character.

Uloka equally lamented the return of Godfatherism in Anambra and gross intimidation of members of APGA party by one man, who is using his influence as brother of the Governor to subject every other member of the party to slavery and imposition.

In 2017, numerous ndi Anambra rallied round Governor Willie Obiano to fight his Predecessor, Mr. Peter Obi, on the grounds of Godfatherism. But today, Willie Obiano has forgotten so soon that he wishes to impose Charles Soludo on Anambra people, which he claimed has been rejected by the people.

“That decision of the Governor and his Aguleri people, who have reduced APGA party to “Aguleri People’s Grand Alliance Party” is about to sink the pseudo Igbo party because Anambra people are not ready to return to the rings of Godfatherism.”
“We are voting Senator Andy Uba for Governor of Anambra State”.
“Permit me to use this medium and announce to you all that I have duly resigned as the Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Executive Governor of Anambra State and my membership of APGA as well and officially defected to the All Progressives Congress Party, APC.”

“Thank you to everyone who gave me their unalloyed support while in APGA, I hope to cross over to the other side with your love and  support so we can put to good use our strength and numbers to fight the ills that have befallen our dear Anambra State” Uloka Chukwubuikem, former SSA to Governor Willie Obiano on Media said.

Available information points that more appointees of the Government and critical members of APGA may still dump the party in the coming days to put the final nail on the APGA’s coffin.
