APC Chieftain,Madu Congratulates Gov Sanwo-Olu On Re-Election

Lagos APC Chieftain, Chief Iyke Madu has Congratulated Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on his re-election for the second term in office.

The early hours of Monday, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu was declared as winner of the highly competitive governorship election.

He won with the majority votes, defeating his closest opponent Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party with a difference of 449, 805 votes.

Results from the 20 local governments in the state show that the incumbent defeated 15 other candidates in the race vying for the governorship position. He won in 19 local governments areas of the state, losing only in one.

In the declaration of results made by the Returning Officer, Governor Sanwo-Olu polled 762,134 votes ahead of Gbadebo Rhodes of the Labour Party who got 312,329 votes, and Adediran Olajide Abdulazeez of the People’s Democratic Party who polled 62,449 votes.

Reacting to the Sanwo-Olu victory,Madu said the Gov Sanwo-Olu victory at the guber poll was well deserved saying that the Lagosians had decided to vote for the man who can take them to the next level.

“Let me officially congratulate Governor Sanwo-Olu on his re- election into office for another four- year term.His victory was well deserved and showed that his achievements in the last four years earned him to be re-elected for the second term.

“Once again I congratulate him for being declared as a winner.This is a new dawn in Lagos and the Lagosians should expect more performance from the governor in his second term,”he said.

Madu who is a member of Tinubu/Shettima presidential campaign in the state also congratulated president elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his landslide victory recorded at the recent presidential poll.

He said Tinubu victory was as result of the achievements of the party at the federal level and APC  owned states saying that Nigerians should expect good governance during Tinubu administration

He however urged the youths not to be used by the opposition parties saying that the Tinubu government has promised to give the youths better life in his government.

Madu believed that the APC is only political party that can meet the expectations of Nigerians and urged Nigerian youths to shun social vices that can undermine the nascent democracy the country started since 1999.
