The atmosphere in Abuja was nothing short of historic—colourful, energetic, and symbolic of a party in firm control of its destiny. Much like the vibrancy of the Ojude Oba Festival, the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Convention stood out as a grand showcase of organisation, unity, and political maturity.
I commend my party, the All Progressives Congress, for setting a new benchmark in political coordination by delivering what can rightly be described as a world-class convention. The seamless planning, disciplined execution, and overwhelming participation underscored the APC’s capacity not just to govern, but to lead by example. Even opposition figures were left surprised, acknowledging the scale, orderliness, and cohesion that defined the gathering.

One of the most poignant moments of the convention was when Bola Ahmed Tinubu led party faithfuls in reassuring Nigeria a better future and a period of reflection, observing a solemn moment of silence in honour of the late former President, Muhammadu Buhari. It was a deeply symbolic gesture—one that reinforced the party’s respect for its legacy while reminding members of the responsibility that comes with leadership.
Special recognition must also go to the Vice President, Kashim Shettima, whose steady support continues to complement the President’s vision. Together, they have demonstrated purposeful leadership, fostering unity within the party and projecting a clear roadmap for Nigeria’s future.

Beyond the spectacle, the convention was a powerful affirmation of the APC’s internal strength and stability. The emergence of the Renewed Hope National Working Committee reflects a forward-looking leadership structure, one that carries the aspirations of party members across the country. I congratulate all those who emerged and urge them to justify the confidence reposed in them through inclusive leadership, discipline, and strategic focus.
However, as we celebrate, we must also remain forward-thinking. As the ruling party, the APC must seize this momentum to begin early preparations for the 2027 general elections. This includes strengthening grassroots structures, effectively integrating new members, and addressing past electoral shortcomings with sincerity and resolve.

It is critical that the party prioritises competence at all levels. Those entrusted with responsibilities—especially at polling units as agents and canvassers—must be individuals of proven capacity and integrity. Elections are won not only through popularity but through meticulous organisation and vigilance.
Furthermore, inclusivity must remain at the heart of the APC’s strategy. No stakeholder should feel marginalised. Our diversity is our strength, and leaders at all levels must ensure that every voice counts in shaping the party’s future.

The success of this convention has set a high standard—not just for the APC, but for Nigeria’s democratic process. It is now our collective responsibility to build on this achievement, deepen internal democracy, and deliver on the promise of good governance.
Once again, I commend President Tinubu, Vice President Shettima, and the entire party leadership for a job well done. The journey ahead is demanding, but with unity, discipline, and vision, the APC is well-positioned to lead Nigeria into a more prosperous future.
