The mobilization of Igbo in Lagos State to join APC embarked by the Apex leader, Hon. Jude Idimogu and stakeholders led by the Ezendigbo and Chairman of ethnic traditional rulers, Eze Christian C. Nwachukwu, is gaining momentum as many have declared support for the Party.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Hon. Idimogu and some Igbo stakeholders stormed Oto Awori in Ojo Local Government area of the State to visit the traditional ruler, Oto Awori, Eze Dr. Omenife P. Olikenyi and his cabinet including the Igbo living in the area, who declared support for the APC.
The visit, which attracted the presence of prominent Igbo Community leaders and Party members for the Chairman of traditional rulers in the State, Eze Nwachukwu, to denounce Chief Joe Igbokwe for claiming that he is the Apex leader, described him as an impostor and should be disregarded by Igbo in the State.
Nwachukwu explained that Hon. Idimogu was given the mandate by the Igbo community leaders to mobilize and set up structures from Wards and Local Governments levels for the grassroots to join the party, which he has been doing.
Eze Nwachukwu said since Hon. Idimogu took over the mantle of leadership as Apex leader, there has been a great change as many Igbo have joined the Party in many wards and Local Governments in the State.
He said that the narrative has changed and the Igbo want to prove that they are not against the ruling Party and did not hate the APC but the suspicion was there due to communication gab between the Party and the people at the grassroots level caused by past Igbo leaders which had been corrected by Hon. Idimogu.

On the side of Hon. Idimogu, he said he has taken the challenge after he discovered that the Igbo community does not know much about the APC due to the communication gab caused by the past leaders who do not reach out to them.
He explained that it was his duty to educate the Igbo about the need to belong to the ruling party, which will protect their interest in the State.
He noted that the Igbo people have investments in the State and need to protect them. And the best way to do so is to recognize the ruling party in the State and negotiate their interest.
He enjoined all the Igbo to register with the Party because democracy is a game of numbers and if the Party realizes that Igbo had such numbers, it will be easier to negotiate to get more positions in the State.
Eze Olikenyi thanked Hon. Idimogu and his entourage for coming to Oto Awori to reach the grassroots which he described as the first of its kind.He assured him of their support and would work with him to ensure that the Igbo in the area including traders at Alaba Market and other markets around joined the Party for the interest of Igbo in the State.
