APGA UK Urges INEC To Comply With Recent Judgement Of Federal High Court

Posted on July 27, 2021

The UK Chapter of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, has described the reaffirmation of Prof Charles Soludo as the APGA Governorship candidate for the November 6th Governorship election in Anambra as Victory for the nation’s electoral process.

In a statement signed by Hon (Amb.) Eric Nzekwe (Chairman, APGA UK), the group said, “The Judgement, which also reaffirmed Dr Victor Oye as the authentic National Chairman of APGA, is indeed a milestone in our Electoral democracy. This is indeed a sound Victory for our democracy and confirmation of the confidence of the people of Anambra State on Prof. Soludo. The judgement has vindicated the APGA faithful, who wholeheartedly nominated Prof. Soludo as their Candidate”.

“This recent Federal High Court judgement has invalidated the earlier judgement of the Jigawa High Court, which purportedly recognized Chukwuma Umeoji as APGA Candidate. Chukwuma Umeoji was disqualified by the party, which he never appealed against, rather he decided to get an “Ochanja Market judgement” to circumvent and subvert the decision of the party and its faithful. This recent judgement has proved that a black market judgement from Jigawa State will never make him the candidate of APGA.”

“We are not ignorant of the fact that the whole scenario playing out is nothing but a calculated design consciously plotted to distract Prof. Soludo and the party, APGA. We are indeed optimistic that the people of Anambra State who have a firm confidence on Prof Soludo will never allow themselves to be hoodwinked by the antics and political gimmicks of paid  detractors, who have no place in our party.”

“We are calling on all the teeming supporters of the party and Prof. Soludo in Anambra State to remain resolute and undeterred. There is no cause for alarm as  Prof. Soludo has been reaffirmed as  the authentic candidate of our party in Anambra State while Dr Victor Ike Oye has also be reconfirmed as the authentic chairman of our great party. The party has taken a stand on the nomination of Prof Soludo as its Governorship candidate and that’s remains final. No amount of distraction by bunch of vanishing and disgruntled political elements will  change the narrative of events, especially the likes of Jude Okeke who is looking for any available straw to remain relevant.”

“Jude Okeke should understand that his mercantile antics has failed. APGA is not a trading place for Jude Okeke and Chukwuma Umeoji, they should look somewhere else. Victory for Prof. Soludo and APGA in the forthcoming Governorship election in Anambra State is indisputable.”

“This is the time for the people of Anambra to rise and defend their future by not allowing  desperate politicians with avaricious political interest like Jude Okeke and Chukwuma Umeoji and their co-travellers to shortchange the future of the state. Anambra remains the hotbed of revolutionary politics,  no matter their plot, they must surely be disgraced and victory will be guaranteed for APGA, Prof Soludo and Ndi Anambra in general . We expect the INEC to kindly update their list by publishing the name of Prof. Charles Soludo as the candidate of APGA for the November 6th Anambra Governorship election.”
