Asaba 2022 Taekwondo: Lagos Coach Eyes 4 Gold In Sparring Event, As Team Lagos Win 3 Silvers, 1 Bronze In Poomsae

Ditu Beauty won a silver medal in female Poomsae

 

With the taekwondo events of the ongoing 21st National Sports Festival gathering momentum at Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta State, Coach of Lagos State Taekwondo Association, Master Dele Kazeem, is upbeat that his team would win four gold medals in the sparring event.

 

Team Lagos on Friday won three silver and one bronze medals in the Poomsae event decided at the multi purpose hall of the Stephen Keshi Stadium

In the Poomsae individual female event, Ditu Beauty, won a silver, after losing to good medal winner Josephine Esuku from Delta State. Faridat Aderibigbe (Osun) and Kudirat Haruna (Bayesa State) picked bronze medals, while the duo of Ditu Beauty and Roqeeb Arowora won a silver medal in the pair team event.

However,  the trio of Ditu Beauty, Adetilewa Owodunni and Abdulsalam Mariam won a silver medal in the female Poomsae.

Team Lagos, also won a bronze medal, in the Team male event through the trio of Roqeeb Arowora, Ibrahim Idris and Samuel Akande.

With these medals in the kitty of Lagos team, Master Dele Kazeem, said he was satisfied with the athletes’ performance so far, adding that the association is expecting four gold medals in sparring event from.the quartet of Peju Adebanjo, Abdul Lateef Arinola and Ridwan Amusa, who won a gold medal at last National Sports Festival in Edo State and Ridwan Amusa.

According to Master Kazeem, the association would not relent in its efforts to sustain its dominance in the sports, stressing that Delta, Edo, Bayelsa, Kano, Katsina, Rivers and Anambra States are among.the best states in taekwondo that could give Lagos State tougher oppositions.

Team Lagos association presented 14 taekwondoists who are competing in 20 events at the ongoing sports festival.
