Asisat Splashes Millions Of Naira On Winners At Oshoala Football4girls Tourney

Captain of Nigeria’s Super Falcons, Asisat Oshoala, has ensured that winners in the 2021 Asisat Oshoala Invitational Football4girls Tournament are adequately motivated and rewarded for them to be proud of their participation in the sixth edition which ended on Friday at the Mobolaji Johnson Sports Centre, Onikan, Lagos.
Accordingly, the Nigerian striker had given out worthy prize monies to the winners in both the school and academy’s categories, while also giving out cash awards to the Most Valuable Player (MVP) and Highest Goal Scorer of the academy category.
To this end, Oracle Queens who beat Victory Queens in the final of the academy’s category received in cash N500, 000, while winners in the school’s category, Isale Eko Grammar School who beat Dolphin High School got paid with the sum of N250,000.
Oladipupo Shukura of Oracle Queen who won the MVP in the academy’s category and Oluwole -Azeezat of Isale Eko Grammar School who won the Highest Goalscorer award in the school’s category were rewarded by Oshoala with the sum of N250, 000 cash each.
All prizes were given to the winners in cash immediately at the stadium on Friday.
Not only that, the FC Barcelona of Spain striker, also gave out sports equipment worth millions of Naira to the participating teams in the competition.
Oshoala, who was so glad about the turnout during the three days tournament, which kicked off at the Campos Mini Stadium on Lagos Island, praised the enthusiasm shown by the girls, their commitment to pursue a career in football and the zeal they exhibited to commit themselves to their academic studies.
The tournament, which featured, among other things, mentorship sessions, life skills and medical programmes, was supported by the Lagos State Government through the Lagos State Sports Commission, Emzor Pharmaceuticals, UBA Foundation, Molped sanitary pad and Pastor Tobi Adegboyega, a philanthropist and founder of Nxtion Family, a Pentecostal Church based in London.
