Democracy is defined as the government of the people, by the people, for the people, hence it is about equality, service and unity of purpose, but with the economic challenges facing the world in general, it has become a daunting task to ensure basic human rights and dignity, even though the system provides a government at the grassroot to ensure that dividends of democracy gets to the ordinary people. Thankfully, it is serving Ojodu LCDA well, not only because the Chairman is a young technocrat that is brilliant, and compassionate as an individual, but he understands the value of a dream team, hence he surrounds himself with professionals that have empathy, and all about service rather than political worship, even the civil servants are kinder at the secretariat in the discharge of their duties to the community, hence all the palliative programmes in Ojodu LCDA is top notch and highly commendable, but is that all? No!.
Chairmo! is a deep thinker with a think tank that understands we Nigerians irrespective of the tribe or religion, we take pride and have dignity in our labour so we are hardworking and like to earn our living, hence every week he has a new infrastructural development project, educational projects, health interventions and social welfare projects, which is being handled by local residents and businesses.
This strategy is the most effective poverty alleviation programme implemented across the world, and it is changing lives, restoring human dignity, and empower people, even to help their neighbours, which is a wonderful development and should be adopted by all office holders and leaders at all levels, give opportunities and make it easy for even those without connections to benefit.
I can attest to the fact that this government is raising local and hardworking individuals to the next level by providing business opportunities that are improving people’s socio economic status so I will advise the youths, and family men/ women to look around them, come up with ideas that can better the community, and go present it to the Chairman, yes his door is always open, it will be implemented and you will be involved, earning your keep for the effort you have put into improving our lives and community.
There are so many projects in the area of availability of water to reduce dependency on mallams especially when there’s no light, parking on the streets, waste management, security to mention a few, you can do joint ventures, or make a go at it alone, and if its a knowledge gap about how to put together a successful proposal, bid or even how to lobby for these opportunities that is preventing you from trying, if up to 50 people can message me to request for a knowledge sharing session, I will organise an entrepreneur support business conference before the summer to guide as many aspiring entrepreneurs as possible, so let’s grab the DOS Template its a roadmap to success, no gree for poverty!.
