Bizwoman Sent To Kirikiri For Allegedly Torturing Maid, 9, For Stealing Money

The Nigeria Police at the Ebute-Ero Division, Idumota, Lagos have arrested a 39-year old businesswoman, Adebisi Oladoke and dragged her before a Lagos Magistrate’s Court for allegedly torturing her maid called Rukiba with hot knife for allegedly stealing her undisclosed sum of money.

Police claimed trouble started for the little girl when her boss accused her of stealing her money and the little girl admitted to the theft and allegedly returned the money back to her boss.

Police further alleged that following the little girl admission to the theft, the defendant allegedly became furious accusing the little girl that she had been stealing her money for long.

Police said that the defendant light her stove and put knife on it and as the knife got hot, she allegedly used it to tortured the little girl in all over her body and private parts to force her to confess to more theft.

Police alleged that the loud screaming of the little girl for help attracted neighbours who sent a distress call to the Divisional Police Officer, DPO incharge of Ebute-Ero Division, CSP Rotimi Agunloye who swiftly directed his men to go the scene of the incident  to arrest the defendant and restore order.

The defendant was charged before the Tinubu Magistrate’s Court, Lagos Island on a count charge bordering on using hot knife to inflict injuries on a nine years old girl occasioning bodily harm.

Police Counsel, Ishola Samuel informed the  Court in the charge  marked  TB/89/2024 that the defendant committed the offence at 2, Adetoye Street, Surulere, Lagos.

Samuel told the Court that the defendant took the law into her  hands by using  hot knife to  tortured the complainant for allegedly stealing her undisclosed sum of money even after the  complainant had returned the money back to her.

The count charge reads,” that you Adebisi Oladoke did indecently deatl with one Rukiba by using a hot  knife to inflict injuries on her body occasioning bodily harm.

The defendant, however pleaded not guilty to the charges and Magistrate A.A Paul grunted her bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.

Magistrate Paul adjourned the case till  27 January, 2024 for mention and ordered that the defendant be detained at the Kirikiri Correctional facilities till she perfected the bail conditions.
