The Intelligence team of the Nigerian State Security Service (SSS) have arrested a suspected Boko Haram hitman, Amodu Awama, who allegedly masterminded the killing of 50 people in Borno State and relocated to Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect,  Amodu Awama, was arrested at Gemade Estate, Egbeda area of Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos, where he hid after successful operation in Borno State.
The suspect, Awama, now in custody was arrested following a coordinated intelligence gathering mechanism of the men of SSS at Shangisha, who monitored his movement from Borno State to his hideout in the estate.
He was said to have coordinated Boko Haram operations in Bama and Gwoza in Borno State that left many people dead before he relocated to Lagos for an undisclosed mission.
The suspect, Awama, reportedly sneaked into Lagos three months ago unknown to him that the eagle eyes of the security men were trailing him, eventually arrested him at the estate and detained him for interrogation.
It was not yet certain if the security men arrested Awama with any weapons or he came with other members of his terror group to cause havoc in Lagos, but the security men were said to be seriously interrogating him to know his mission in Lagos State.
Following the ongoing investigation, the SSS has filed an application for remand warrants before the Yaba Magistrates Court for his detention for 30 days to enable the security men to uncover his mission and motive of fleeing from Borno State to Lagos.
The Court has consequently granted the request and he was remanded in custody for more investigation on his mission
