Boxing: NBF Sets Up Committees To Achieve Lofty Goals, Coopts Three Members

Brimming with fresh energy, the Nigeria Boxing Federation, NBF has taken the first step towards achieving its set lofty goals.
The federation led by former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Kenneth Minimah (rtd)has set up nine standing committees to drive the process of taking Nigerian boxing back to its glorious days.
A source close to the federation who didn’t want to be named said the formation of the committees was one of major outcomes of the board’s recent meeting in Abuja.
“Several decisions that will fast-track the development of boxing in Nigeria were taken at the meeting but the big one is the formation of committees”, the source said.
The source told P.M. EXPRESS that at the well-attended meeting, the board also co-opted some persons.
Those co-opted were renowned medical doctor, Dr. Lazarus Herican, a celebrated referee, Alhaji Abdullahi Masha and a coach, Mr. Babatunde Laguda.
The committees are Technical, Athletes and Youth, Medical, Ethics and Disciplinary, Marketing and Sponsorship, Coaches, Referees/Judges, Women and Nigeria Boxing Series.
