The game between Buruj SA and Perrick FA began in breathless fashion around 2.35pm inside the Araromi Youth Development Centre.

It was clear that there would be goals in the game from the kick off, and the opener arrived on 13 minutes as Buruj boys got a corner kick, which was taken by Segun Idowu to locate Joel Olubodun, who tipped the ball into the net to give the team their first goal as Buruj Forwards managed further efforts at goal as they began with intent.

Buruj SA were pushing and continued pushing for the second, and finally in the 23 minutes of play they had it as Jeremiah Fagbemile Rowe doubled their advantage from close range via a beautiful volley to beat Perrick FA Goal Keeper after getting a perfect ball connection from Buruj Forward Noah Salaudeen.

As a relentless first half continued to thrill, Buruj SA Goal Keeper, Edet Inyang, produced a magnificent save on 33 minutes, first denying a thudding effort by the opponent’s forward, before reacting quickly to get to a miscued effort by another opponent on the rebound. He had one on one saves and parries.

At 36mins of play Buruj SA Defensive Midfielder, Joel Olubodun, got a yellow carded for the second time in the competition and its Goal Keeper, Edet Inyang.

The first half ended 2 – 0 in Favour of Buruj Sports Academy.

The second half kicked off on a good note with the opponent taking the half ball pass.

Buruj SA makes two substitutes immediately and introduced two players, Timothy Iwuchukwu to replace Abideen Adio and James Acha replaced Jeremiah Fagbemile.

The game continued on a good note with the ever increasing fans of Buruj SA raising the roofs with accolades.

In the 73mins of play the third goal came in for Buruj SA. It was James Acha, who put the icing on the cake with a shot to make it 3-0 right at the very end of the game with clever moves from Joel Olubodun.

At 82mins of play Buruj SA made another substitution replacing Noah Salaudeen with Uchenna Nwachukwu.

There was a touch of good fortune about the midfielder’s deflected strike but there was nothing undeserved about the victory given the way Buruj SA stepped up their performance after an evenly balanced first half filled with opportunities.

Buruj Goal Keeper, Edet Inyang, maintained his clean sheet for the second time in the competition.

At 90mins of a fantastic game the match ended 3 – 0 in Favour of Buruj Sports Academy.

Buruj Sports Academy CEO after the match said, “It’s a good game and of course winning doesn’t mean we had no mistakes but our players delivered their best on the pitch as they listened to instructions from the technical crew while playing. Now we are at 10goals lead in the competition and we look forward to more victory” he enthused.
