Chekwas Okorie’s Desperate Lies And Political Betrayals: Unmasking The Deceiver’s Latest Scheme

Posted on September 5, 2024

1. Introduction

Chief Chekwas Okorie’s recent address is not only riddled with falsehoods and baseless assertions but also exposes the depths of his treachery and unscrupulous character, one that is unbecoming of a man his age who should at this point be statemanly in speech and conduct. As a disgraced former member of APGA, whose expulsion from the Party was validated by the Supreme Court, Okorie has consistently demonstrated a pattern of betrayal and opportunism, which now manifests in his desperate and sordid attempts to destabilize the party for personal gain.

Okorie’s history is a litany of deceit and backstabbing. His betrayal of Dim Odimegwu Ojukwu, the revered leader of APGA, was a low point, even for a man of his questionable morals. His role in selling out the election victory of Governor Peter Obi in 2003 was nothing short of treasonous, leading to his rightful expulsion from the party. Instead of reforming his corrupt ways, Okorie went on to create the United Progressive Party (UPP), where he engaged in rampant fraud, shamelessly defrauding candidates until the party crumbled under the weight of his dirty dealings.

Now, like a political scavenger, Okorie has latched onto the impostor Edozie Njoku in a vile and unholy alliance. Together, these two political mercenaries seek to plunder the Anambra State government treasury and manipulate gullible politicians from the state. It is telling that neither Njoku nor Okorie has managed to win any elections in their home states of Imo and Abia—further proof of their utter lack of credibility and leadership. Their focus on Anambra State is nothing more than a desperate and despicable ploy to line their pockets at the expense of the people.

Chief Chekwas Okorie has shown time and again that he is a man driven solely by greed and self-interest, with no regard for the principles or the well-being of the party he once betrayed. His latest antics are just another chapter in a long history of political treachery, and the people of Anambra State would do well to see through his charade and reject his toxic influence.

2. Governor Soludo’s Commitment to APGA

Governor Chukwuma Soludo has been an unwavering pillar of APGA, driving significant progress in Anambra State under the party’s banner. His efforts have not only revitalized the state’s economy but have also cemented APGA’s reputation as a party of action and development. To accuse Governor Soludo of destabilizing APGA is to ignore the vast contributions he has made to both the party and the state. These baseless accusations are nothing more than an attempt to undermine his leadership.

Governor Soludo has also remained calm amidst the leadership struggles within APGA, patiently waiting for the Supreme Court to decide on the proper interpretation of its judgment. This is a testament to his respect for the rule of law and his dedication to the stability of the party.

3. Governor Soludo’s Refusal to Bankroll Chekwas Okorie

The only “crime” Governor Soludo committed against Chekwas Okorie was his refusal to use Anambra State funds to bankroll Okorie’s political ambitions. When Okorie met with Governor Soludo in 2022, seeking the party’s presidential nomination along with the financial support that comes with it, the Governor, being a prudent manager of resources, insisted on using the state’s funds for the benefit of the people rather than diverting it for personal political gains. This refusal has seemingly sparked Okorie’s current vendetta against the Governor, exposing his true intentions.

4. Chief Chekwas Okorie’s Serial Blackmail

Chekwas Okorie is a seasoned purveyor of political blackmail, a malevolent maestro whose repertoire of blackmail has ensnared the likes of Chief Victor Umeh, Mr. Peter Obi, and the venerable Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu. Like a ravenous hyena, he circles the corridors of power, ready to sink his fangs into anyone for the promise of the smallest morsel. His history is a sordid tale of blackmail and opportunism, a relentless pursuit of self-interest where no act of deceit is too low, no alliance too sacred to be sacrificed on the altar of his insatiable greed. Okorie is a man whose moral compass is perpetually pointed toward the path of infamy, ever ready to carry out the most disgraceful political machinations for mere crumbs.

5. Misrepresentation of APGA’s Leadership

Chief Okorie’s claim that Chief Edozie Njoku is the legitimate National Chairman of APGA is simply false. While the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) temporarily recognized Edozie Njoku, this recognition is currently being challenged by the APGA leadership under Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa at the Supreme Court. No court order recognized the Owerri Convention or directed INEC to recognize Njoku. The decision to shift recognition from the authentic National Chairman, Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa, to Njoku, who had been expelled from the party, has placed INEC under scrutiny. Despite claiming that this recognition was based on a court order, INEC has yet to produce any such order. Furthermore, in a response from the Supreme Court obtained by APGA on August 5, 2024, the Supreme Court clarified that it did not order INEC to recognize Edozie Njoku in its judgment of October 14, 2021, or in the correction of its typographical error on March 24, 2023. The Supreme Court clarification also stated that INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu has not disobeyed any court judgment by not recognizing Edozie Njoku, contrary to the political banditry orchestrated by Njoku to have the INEC Chairman imprisoned for contempt through forum shopping.

6. Supreme Court Judgment and Legal Proceedings

Chief Okorie’s interpretation of the Supreme Court’s judgment is a misrepresentation. The so-called “trajectory of errors” refers to a clerical error that did not, in any way, overturn the legitimate leadership of APGA. The judiciary operates independently, and Governor Soludo has always respected the rule of law. The lawful appeal by APGA leadership under Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa against decisions that undermine the true leadership of APGA is consistent with the democratic principles upon which the party is built.

7. Chief Chekwas Okorie’s Political Opportunism

Chief Chekwas Okorie’s disgraceful history with APGA is one of relentless treachery, blackmail and shameless betrayal. His expulsion from the party was a fitting consequence for a man who repeatedly stabbed his comrades in the back, only to crawl away and form the now-defunct United Progressive Party (UPP)—a pathetic venture that collapsed under the weight of his own greed and incompetence. Now, in a desperate attempt to reclaim relevance, Okorie stages a phantom return to APGA, pretending to defend values he has never honored. But anyone with a shred of sense can see through this despicable charade. His so-called reappearance is nothing but an opportunistic ploy by a desperate man, a transparent attempt to exploit the internal workings of the party for his own selfish gain. Okorie’s history is littered with deceit, disloyalty, and a complete lack of commitment to any principle beyond his own avarice, making his current assertions not just suspect, but utterly worthless.

8. Chekwas Okorie’s Shameful Allegations of Anti-Party Activities and Governor Soludo’s Unwavering Commitment to APGA

Chief Chekwas Okorie’s baseless accusations of anti-party activities against Governor Chukwuma Soludo reveal his utter desperation and disconnection from reality. Okorie’s attempts to discredit Governor Soludo are not only disgraceful but also highlight his own dishonorable track record. The Governor’s alleged anti-party activities are nothing but a smokescreen designed to distract from his own blatant opportunism and failures.

Governor Soludo has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to APGA, working diligently to fortify the party and maintain its prominence on Nigeria’s political stage. Far from undermining the party, Soludo’s actions are focused on preserving its integrity and ensuring its continued relevance. The real issue lies with Okorie’s shameless attempts to derail progress and exploit the party for personal gain, exposing his own lack of principles and credibility.

9. The Resilience and Future of APGA

APGA remains strong and resilient under the leadership of Governor Soludo and Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa. The party’s survival and success are not in question; rather, they are being built upon by leaders who are genuinely committed to its ideals. Chief Okorie’s claims that Governor Soludo wishes to destroy APGA are not only baseless but also indicative of a drunk man’s lack of understanding, like Chekwas, of the governor’s vision for the party.

Governor Soludo is the National Leader of APGA, and its members and supporters are solidly behind him, despite the subterranean efforts by Chekwas Okorie and Edozie Njoku to undermine the unity of the party. It begs the question: Who is the National Leader of Edozie Njoku’s phantom APGA, and under whose National Leadership and Chairmanship did they conduct their purported Owerri Convention? Members of the public are urged to disregard Chekwas Okorie’s latest rant, as his financial resources have run dry, and he is merely seeking more funds from his sponsors for yet another political hatchet job.

10. Conclusion

Governor Soludo and Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa represent the legitimate leadership of APGA, recognized by both the law and the party’s members. Chief Chekwas Okorie’s attempts to undermine this leadership are rooted in personal ambition rather than a genuine concern for APGA’s future. The party is moving forward, united and stronger, under the capable hands of its true leaders, and no amount of political opportunism will change that. The focus remains on delivering on the promises made to the people and ensuring that APGA continues to be a beacon of progress and development in Nigeria.
