The Honourable Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation in the State of Osun, Mrs. Funke Egbemode, has said the government of the State of Osun would become more aggressive in its publicity and enlightenment of citizens about Covid-19 as part of its efforts to rid the State of the virus.

She, however, warned citizens to adhere to the guidelines and safety protocols against the pandemic in the interest of personal and collective safety.

She also assured that the government of Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola will continue to take necessary measures, like collaborating with relevant health agencies, to ensure the safety of its citizens.

Egbemode, speaking on Wednesday at Obada Market, Ikire, during a Covid-19 sensitisation rally, charged the market men and women to assume the duties of change agents and propagate the safety protocols against Covid-19 in their domain.

Egbemode, who was represented by the Director, Grassroots and Public Enlightenment of the Ministry of Information and Civic Orientation, Mr. Raphael Ojo, also advised citizens to avail themselves for the Covid-19 vaccination as part of protective measures.

Speaking at the rally, the Babaloja of Obada Market, Prince Oyebade Oyeniran, lauded the government of the state of Osun for its efforts at keeping citizens safe, adding that executive members of the market had all received their jabs of the vaccine.

The Iyaloja of Obada Market, Chief (Mrs.) Adetomiwa Musifat, assured the State Government that the Market leadership would put mechanisms in place to facilitate compliance to safety precautions.

Also in attendance was popular Yoruba Actress,’ Abeni Agbon’, who relayed the government’s message through traditional demonstration.
