Don’t Doubt Soludo!

Posted on January 16, 2025

Seeing Governor Soludo deck out yesterday in his green Akwete top and white trousers, adorning it with his traditional red cap of royalty sparkling with coral beads of the blistering Eagle, swelled my eyes to the possibilities that abound when Leaders mirror material and non-material elements of autochthonous ways. Soludo typifies Nigeria!

No society develops away from their cultural foundations. Even technology itself is an adaptation of people’s way of life. As a model Economist, Soludo knows this fact and is intentionally mainstreaming some of the things we take for granted or have totally abandoned.

From his feeding, to his appearance; his beliefs and deployment of Human Resources; even his public policy thrusts Soludo is not paying lip service to the ideal concept of being a true Nigerian. So far, cynics have met a doer, the real man in the arena who is so much about doing his beat and allowing history be the judge.

— Those who doubted the consolidation and recapitalization of the Banking system eventually ate their words.

— Those who doubted the possibility of an African driven financial powerhouse are today the biggest beneficiaries of the Africa Finance Cooperation (AFC).

— Those who doubted the declaration of a state of emergency on Anambra roads, are today convinced beyond doubt.

— Those who doubted the redemption of Okpoko, have today christened Okpoko “New Haven”.

— Those who doubted that politics of intense development can topple that of stomach infrastructure, are today celebrating Anambra’s fiscal responsibility and financial prudence ratings.

— Those who doubted that he would break the 33year old jinx of Anambra not having a befitting Governor’s Lodge and Government House, are today reporting progress.

A man with such sterling records of execution and finishing with precision is not one to be doubted when he says his vision is to “make Anambra a liveable and prosperous smart mega city!”

Don’t doubt him!
