Don’t Smear Ekwunife’s Image With Your Withdrawal, Aide Tells Ozigbo

The Special Assistant to Senator Uche Ekwunife on Media, Kingsley Ubani, has asked Valentine Ozigbo not to attempt to smear the image of the Federal Lawmaker with his withdrawal from the Senatorial contest and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Reacting to the former PDP Governorship candidate’s dropping of Senator Ekwunife’s name, Ubani said, “Dear Valentine C. Ozigbo,
All Senator Uche Ekwunife did was to save her jurisdiction (Anambra Central Senatorial District) from the hands of Chris Uba and his cohorts. You could not contain Chris Uba in Anambra South as he appears to be backed by powerful members of the NWC – a sad reality”.

“A different panel was set to conduct Anambra Central delegate congresses.”

“Save for that intervention by Senator Ekwunife, Anambra Central Aspirants would have been caught up in the current challenges of the party in the state. Senator Ekwunife will not fight her battles and fight yours. Chris Uba is your immediate opponent. You are the one contesting the Anambra South Senatorial ticket with him.”

“Dropping the name of Senator Ekwunife on your withdrawal letter can only be an attempt by you to smear the name of the distinguished Senator. A failed one at that!”

“My advice to you Sir is to focus on your immediate battle, which is with Chris Uba.”

“Senator Ekwunife showed capacity and leadership by saving Aspirants from Anambra Central from the mess that would have emanated from the party’s failure to conduct adhoc delegate congresses. She should be hailed for her courageous steps and not vilified by you, if truly you are worthy to be the rallying point of the party in the state as you desperately claim.”

“Finally, the battle for the various positions in the party had nothing to do with Peter Obi. It was simply about the contest to win the ticket of the party by various aspirants, for which Senator Ekwunife is running unopposed.”
