DOS/KFL Campaign Council Hosts Ethnic And Artisan Groups At Inaugural Engagement Meeting

In a show of unity and grassroots mobilization, the DOS/KFL Campaign Council hosted an inaugural meeting with representatives of ethnic communities and an artisan group at its campaign office in Agidingbi, Ojodu LCDA, ahead of the forthcoming local government elections.

The engagement saw participation from five major groups: Ekiti Kete, Ndigbo, Arewa, South-South, and the Lagos State Vulcanizers Association (LSVA), all of whom pledged their support for the re-election bid of Hon. Segun Odunmbaku (DOS) and his running mate, Hon. Kafaya Layeni (KFL).

Speaking on behalf of the South-South community, Chief Nicholas Ibok commended the Council Chairman for the inclusion of their members in his administration, especially through appointments as Special Senior Assistants (SSAs). The Ndigbo group, led by Chairman Emeka, presented souvenirs and offered to join the campaign council. The Arewa community expressed pride in the achievements of Hon. Odunmbaku’s first term, while the Ekiti Kete and Vulcanizers pledged full allegiance and prayers for victory at the polls.

Hon. Yomi Balogun, Director of Contact and Mobilisation charged the groups to mobilize their members en masse with similar sentiment echoed by Alhaja Stella Kokumo, APC LGA Chairman and Campaign Director of Welfare urged continued grassroots canvassing. The campaign’s Director General, Barr. Olawale Ajala, accepted a request to include three ethnic group representatives in the campaign council.

Hon Segun Odunmbaku appreciated the solidarity from the groups for his joint candidacy with Alhaja Kafaya Layeni and reiterated his commitment to continued inclusive development which would only be made possible with the votes of the people. He lauded the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Hon. James Faleke for their efforts to support grassroots governance.

Also in attendance were Vice Chairman Bunmi Oluyadi (Director of Security), Alhaja Kafaya Layeni, Six councillorship candidates and other campaign officials including Hon Gbemi Ololade (Campaign Council Deputy DG), Mr. Bestman Nze (Director of Media) and Hon. Olaide John Bello (Secretary Campaign Council).
