Edo 2020 NSF: Team Lagos Rejects Accommodation From Festival LOC

Posted on April 4, 2021

Report from Benin City, venue of the ongoing Edo 2020 National Sports Festival, has it that a Hall of Residence provided by the Local Organising Committee (LOC) was rejected by the Management Team of Team Lagos on Saturday when the state’s contingent arrived for the national tournament.

Hall 4 inside the University of Benin (UniBen) was provided by the LOC for Team Lagos, and upon arrival for lodging on Saturday, Team Lagos discovered that, that Hall 4 was not conducive and befitting the status of a contingent from Lagos State, hence the decision of the handlers of the Team to immediately lodge a strong protest to the LOC.
Having discovered the anomaly, the LOC immediately changed the allocation and assigned Hall 6 as new Hall of Residence for Team Lagos for the festival.

An official of Team Lagos, who prefers anonymity because he was not authorised to speak on the issue confirmed that the Lagos contingent refused the initial accommodation provided by the LOC because the condition of the Hall is not conducive.

“We made a complaint to the LOC which saw reason with us and made available another hall for Team Lagos,” the source said.
