EFCC Slams Mercy Chinwo’s Ex-Manager With $443k Theft Charges

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has filed a three-count charge against Ezekiel Onyedikachuwu Thankgod, popularly known as Eezee Global, over the alleged theft of $443,371 belonging to gospel artistes Mercy Chinwo and Judith Kanayo (Judikay).

Thankgod, the former manager of Chinwo and head of Eezee Global Concepts Limited, is being prosecuted alongside his company before the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos.

The case, marked ID/25810c/25, was filed by EFCC prosecutors Rotimi Oyedepo (SAN), Bilikisu Buhari-Bala, and Sulaiman I. Sulaiman.

According to the charge, the defendant allegedly dishonestly converted to personal use various sums totaling $443,371 in 2023. The amounts reportedly include: $112,985, $260,494, and $69,892

The EFCC stated that these funds were the property of Mercy Chinwo and Judith Kanayo.

The offences are said to contravene Sections 280(1)(a) and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

No date has been fixed yet for the defendant’s arraignment.
