Embittered Housewife Docked For Hiring Thugs To Kill Husband

An embittered 38-year old housewife, Temitayo Adefioye, has landed in trouble for allegedly hiring thugs suspected to be assasins to eliminate her estranged husband, Akintomide Oladotun, after their marriage collapsed in Oyo State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that she has been arrested and charged before Iyaganku Magistrate Court, Ibadan, for alleged assault, threat to life and conduct likely to cause the breach of the peace under the Criminal Law of the State.
The incident happened on 13th August, 2025, at Badeku area of Ibadan.
The Prosecutor, Inspector Olagoke Adegbenro, told the Court that the defendant hired thugs to beat up Mr. Akintomide Oladotun, who was her former husband and they brought acid and petrol into Oladotun’s compound to harm him.
Apart from that, the defendant conducted herself in a manner likely to cause a breach of the peace by sending different threatening messages to her ex-husband thereby committed an offence, which contravened the provisions of Sections 351, 86 and 249(d) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
However, she pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. Olasinmibo Sanusi-Zubair, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum and the two sureties must be blood relatives of the defendant, who must show evidence of means of livelihood.
The matter was adjourned till 9th December, 2025, for hearing.
