Dear Fellow Nigerians,

Let me share a compelling story from Chinua Achebe’s acclaimed novel Things Fall Apart, a tale that vividly mirrors our current situation. This powerful narrative starkly reminds us of the devastating effects of conflict and highlights the critical importance of dialogue over discord. In the story, Okonkwo, a formidable and revered leader in the village of Umuofia, is celebrated for his courage and strength. However, his uncompromising and confrontational stance ultimately leads to his tragic downfall. His preference for “war-war” over “jaw-jaw” brings about both personal and communal calamity. Achebe’s tale poignantly illustrates the perils of choosing violence over conversation and the urgent need for peaceful conflict resolution, lessons that resonate deeply as we confront the challenges facing our beloved Nigeria today.

This lesson is one that we, as a nation, must deeply embrace. Nigeria stands at a defining moment, and the choices we make today will determine our future. It is crucial, especially for Nigerian youth, to recognise their role in making informed and prudent decisions that will pave the way to a brighter tomorrow. The power to shape our destiny rests with us, and we must adopt the spirit of peacemakers, collaborating to build a nation where every citizen can flourish. The Nigerian youth, with their boundless energy, creativity, and passion, are not only the stewards of our future but the architects of a promising and prosperous nation.

As a Presidential Campaign Director for the 2023 election, with deep insights into the action plan and firsthand knowledge of the administration’s strategic processes, I can confidently affirm that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR and his dedicated team are working tirelessly to address the pressing challenges facing our nation. These ongoing reforms, though challenging in the short term, are laying the groundwork for a more prosperous and equitable Nigeria. It is crucial to recognise that the path to greatness often requires enduring short-term sacrifices to achieve long-term success.

Under Section 40 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended), our Constitution guarantees every citizen the right to assemble and associate freely. Protesting is a fundamental right and a powerful tool for expressing grievances and demanding change. We respect and hear your voices. Peaceful protest is not just a constitutional right but a crucial part of our democracy. However, it is vital to exercise this right with caution and wisdom. While peaceful protest is a legitimate means of expression, there are elements within and outside our country seeking to exploit the planned protests for their nefarious purposes. According to our security agencies, these elements aim to unleash chaos and destruction, diverting attention from the genuine issues at hand. We must not allow our nation to be hijacked by those who do not have our best interests at heart.

I appeal to you, fellow Nigerians, to choose dialogue over conflict and prioritise peaceful engagement over violence. It is better to “jaw-jaw” than to “war-war.” Let us seek peaceful means to address our concerns and work together to build a nation we can all be proud of.

In just over a year, the Tinubu administration has made significant progress that highlights its focus on improving the lives of Nigerians. The establishment of a national education loan fund is giving students better access to quality education and creating opportunities for a brighter future. The approval of a new minimum wage demonstrates the government’s genuine effort to enhance worker welfare and provide a fair living wage for all. Additionally, the creation of the North West and South East Development Commissions addresses the unique challenges of different areas and promotes balanced growth and development across the nation.

Additionally, this administration has secured a Supreme Court ruling that liberates local governments from state control, enhancing their autonomy and capacity to effectively deliver services at the grassroots level. Comprehensive fiscal and monetary policies have been introduced and executed to stabilise the economy and attract investment, laying the foundation for sustainable growth. An unprecedented budget for infrastructure development has been allocated to improve our nation’s roads, bridges, and public facilities. Significant investments have been made in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) through the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment, empowering entrepreneurs and fueling economic expansion.

Furthermore, the administration is taking decisive action to tackle the energy crisis through the Energy Commission of Nigeria, led by the visionary Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi and the Ministry of Power. Their initiatives aim to enhance power generation and distribution, ensuring reliable electricity reaches every Nigerian. The administration is also making substantial investments in healthcare to provide quality medical care for all, with a focus on modernising facilities and training healthcare professionals. Additionally, agriculture is a top priority, with increased support and resources allocated to farmers to boost food production and secure our nation’s food supply.

As the Diaspora Directorate Director who campaigned globally for this administration, I have complete confidence in President Tinubu’s vision and action plan for Nigeria. While this administration is still in its early stages and we face notable challenges, the future holds great promise. President Tinubu embodies intellect and integrity, paired with the experience and courage necessary to fulfil his commitments. He is dedicated to ensuring that no vulnerable Nigerian is left behind. His vision for Nigeria is one of progress, prosperity, and unity, and I am confident that we are on the right trajectory to realise these aspirations.

As we navigate these challenging times, let us stand united, embracing patience and perseverance. We shall surely overcome our present obstacles and build a brighter future for ourselves and future generations. Let us support the Renewed Hope administration’s efforts and work collaboratively to realise the Nigeria of our dreams.

In conclusion, I urge all Nigerians to shun violence and destructive protests. Instead, let us embrace dialogue, understanding, and collaboration as we advance on this transformative journey. Our nation’s strength is rooted in our unity, and by standing together, we will overcome challenges and achieve greatness.

Thank you, and GOD bless Nigeria.
