Fashola, Alhaja Tinubu, Others Attend Late Kafaru Tinubu Annual Ramadan Lecture
Again, the family of the late Alhaji Kafaru Oluwole Tinubu brought together conscious Muslims in and outside Lagos State to be fed with spiritual diets during this year’s memorial Ramadan lecture held Sunday, March 26, 2023 at the popular De Blue Roof, LTV, Ikeja, Lagos.
The occasion in its 14th edition was chaired by Alhaji Wahab Babatunde Dabiri Makanjuola, Chairman, Academy Press, was organised in honour of the late Police boss to literally take Muslims faithful on a voyage around the blessings of Ramaddan under a convivial environment.
The organisers’ choice of two lecturers –Dr. Saheed Timihen, Head of Arabic Unit, Department of Foreign Languages, Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos, who spoke on Governance and Social Justice: Islamic Perspective and Dr. Ganiyat Tijjani Adenle, Senior Lecturer, Lagos State University, Ojo Lagos, to speak on ‘The Societal Impacts of Cultural Imperialism on Decadence: Islamic Alternatives and Panacea’– was generally applauded by the excited audience.
The first speaker, Dr. Timihen spoke extensively on governance and government.
He advised those in power to rule with the fear of Allah in their minds while also enjoined the followers to do their parts very well so our society will be at peace.
Dr. Adenle on her own chastised our youths and advised parents to train their children on the way that will please Allah.
Both lecturers kept the audience on the edge of their seats, as they took turns to engage them during their brilliant presentations, which were peppered with copious quotes from the holy Quran as well as Hadith, the sayings of the Holy Prophet Muhammed, SAW.
Indeed, it was one moment that gave not a few in the audience the opportunity to learn more about the synergy between religion and governance.
The events was well attended by top dignitaries that include Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, representative of Oba of Lagos, Iyalode of Lagos, Alhaja Bintu Tinubu, among several others.
Those that attended the event didn’t go empty handed as food items was distributed.
